History |
| Protection
Services Inc. (PSI) was founded in 1955 to provide
off-season employment for the highway construction workers of the Stabler
Construction Company in Harrisburg, PA.
With the skills these key employees had acquired in highway work zone
traffic control and safety,
they designed and built traffic control equipment best suited for the
job. The tradition continues
today. The skills of our certified
work site traffic control specialists, plus the quality and reliability of
our products, make PSI the right choice for your traffic control needs. |
 |
Customer Service |
| The
primary responsibility of PSI and its over 350 employees is to provide safe
and efficient travel for the motoring public as they navigate highway
construction work zones throughout our territory. The PSI territory includes fifty branch offices in twenty
states, with Arkansas as the westernmost branch and the states of
Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Illinois as the most northern locations. PSI is currently providing top quality products
and services to over 5,000 customers on nearly 100,000 job sites. Our specially trained service staff, fleet
of over 250 service vehicles, and 2 strategically located manufacturing
facilities (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Lake City, Florida) allow us to
efficiently service these accounts that include highway contractors, major
utilities, and state and local government agencies. |
 |
Quality Assurance |
| The
constant training and retraining of our service management and service
personnel through the American Traffic Safety Service Association (ATSSA) and
local contractor associations ensures that the work zones are safe for both
motorists and the highway workers.
Providing job site service every thirty days helps maintain PSI's
reputation for dependable service.
All of the traffic control equipment that we provide meets the specifications
of the federal and state manuals on uniform traffic control devices. Our
manufacturing capability enables PSI to maintain high standards of quality
control. |
 |
Innovation |
| By
taking a leadership role in the industry's transformation from diesel powered
Advance Warners and Message Centers to solar powered models in the early
1990s, PSI became the industry innovator in new technology. National and state awards for energy
innovation further support this fact.
Today, PSI continues this tradition by introducing Intelligent
Transportation Systems (ITS) products into the work zone. Queue Detection Systems, Changeable Speed
Systems, and "real time" Video Systems are now part of the PSI work
zone product offering. |
